Transition to the Binational Physiotherapy Practice Thresholds

04 Oct 2016

In August 2015, the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand announced that the Binational Physiotherapy Practice Thresholds was replacing the Australian Standards of Physiotherapy (2006).

The new Binational Physiotherapy Practice Thresholds defines competencies shared between Australia and New Zealand, that are required of entry-level physiotherapists to be registered to practice.

Accordingly, the Council has developed a new assessment blueprint that aligns the Assessment for General Registration against these new competencies.

From 1 January 2017, all Council assessments will be based on the new assessment blueprint.
