International physiotherapists who believe that a departure from established procedures has had an impact on their assessment can submit an Internal Review application.
Please note that the Internal Review can only address procedural matters. For other complaints regarding your journey, head to Complaints webpage.
If you are interested in applying for an Internal Review, you must do so within 2 weeks of receiving your Clinical Assessment results.
Application requirements
When applying for an Internal Review application, you will be required to upload a statement addressing the grounds for review. The statement must include either:
- Explanation of how the procedural requirements specified by the Council were significantly and improperly followed.
OR
- Description of how your performance was adversely impacted by substantial deficiencies in the assessment procedures, which were beyond your control.
To provide said statement, please use the Internal Review Supporting Statements template. Once completed, upload the template in the online Internal Review application form.

- Wait for your application outcome from the Council.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Council will contact you to advise when you can expect to receive the outcome of your application.
If your Internal Review application is successful, you will receive a refund of your Internal Review application fee, and you will now receive the opportunity to resit that assessment without paying the fee again.
If your Internal Review application is unsuccessful, the original decision regarding your Clinical Assessment will be upheld, and you will not receive a refund of your Internal Review application fee.
