At the Australian Physiotherapy Council we are excited about the use of simulation in physiotherapy education and training, and you would’ve heard of our work on evaluating its use in assessments. It’s an exciting and fast developing space… Here’s a fascinating example of the innovative use of simulation in the education environment.

“In our simulation ward, we create a range of clinical settings such as a surgical ward or an intensive care unit right here on campus.  We train actors to portray patients so that students can practice their skills in this safe learning environment with simulated patients before they enter clinical practice and start working with real patients,” Dr Allison Mandrusiak.
