
The Council hosted the Physiotherapy Regulation and Accreditation (PRA) Network’s second virtual panel event discussing International Physiotherapy Workforce on 31 March 2022, with over 100 registrations of international physiotherapy professionals.
Moderated by Kim Gibson, Chair of Physiotherapy Board of Australia, and Anton Barnett-Harris, CEO of the Australian Physiotherapy Council, the event enabled the exchange of valuable inputs about workforce safety and wellbeing, workforce pipeline, and workforce mobility. Panellists shed light on the COVID-19 impacts to the physiotherapy workforce, how regulators and accreditation authorities have been supporting workforce supply, the various responses and lessons learned from the COVID pandemic, and the availability and use of workforce data to guide regulatory action.
