NAIDOC Week 2022

July 5th, 2022

AUSTRALIAN PHYSIOTHERAPY COUNCIL

This NAIDOC Week the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Australian Physiotherapy Council (Physio Council) and Council of Physiotherapy Deans Australia & New Zealand (CPDANZ) affirm our commitment to culturally safe physiotherapy care and education.

Together we reiterate our commitment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Cultural Safety Strategy 2020-2025 implemented by Ahpra and the National Boards, including the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

We continue our commitment to make meaningful change and improvement in the way Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experience physiotherapy care and education.

The APA, Physio Council and CPDANZ believe it is vital to ensure cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander physiotherapy patients and students, and fully support the strategy’s aim for health equity by 2031.

During NAIDOC Week, we encourage all of us to reflect what this year’s theme, Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’, means to us. To read more click here.
