The Australian Physiotherapy Council was proud to stand alongside leaders, educators, clinicians and innovators at the Australian Physiotherapy Association Scientific Conference (APASC25), held from 23–25 October at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
This biennial event, themed “Lead the Physiotherapy Evolution,” brought together over 1,500 professionals to explore the latest in research, technology, and transformative practice across the physiotherapy landscape.
As Australia’s accreditation authority for physiotherapy education and assessment, the Council’s presence at APASC25 reflected our enduring commitment to quality, safety, and excellence in the profession. We were honoured to sponsor the opening plenary session with guest speaker Dr Gill Hicks, who wholeheartedly gifted us with her story, insights and wisdom.
Throughout the conference, our team contributed to conversations that shape the future of physiotherapy—particularly around workforce readiness, international practitioner pathways, and the evolving standards that underpin ethical and effective care.
We engaged with educators, clinicians, researchers, and students, sharing insights into our refreshed Accreditation Standards and the latest assessment models in the Australian Physiotherapy Entry Pathway (APEP).
Our exhibitor stand provided a welcoming place to connect with internationally trained physiotherapists who have completed our assessments and are now making a meaningful contribution as part of the physiotherapy workforce. And we loved meeting local physiotherapy students who will complete their final year studies in a few weeks and begin their career as new graduate physiotherapists.
The energy at APASC25 was palpable. From keynote addresses to breakout sessions, the conference showcased the depth and diversity of physiotherapy’s impact across allied health and broader healthcare systems. It was a celebration of a profession that never stands still—one that continuously adapts, innovates, and leads.
For the Council, APASC25 reaffirmed our role as a trusted partner in advancing physiotherapy in Australia. We remain deeply committed to working collaboratively with stakeholders across education, regulation, and clinical practice to ensure that every physiotherapist entering the profession is equipped to deliver safe, ethical, and high-quality care.
We thank the Australian Physiotherapy Association for hosting such a dynamic and inspiring event, and we look forward to the future of physiotherapy.
