The Council welcomed the opportunity to sponsor, present at and attend the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s Focus2024 conference in Perth. This was an excellent time to gain insights from our Australian physiotherapists about the needs of the future physiotherapy workforce.
Sponsoring what we value
As a people-focussed organisation, we were proud to sponsor human rights lawyer and activist Rabia Siddiqui’s opening keynote ‘Courage under Fire’. We were honoured to be represented alongside her keynote, as she shared her story of resilience. This sponsorship aligned with our values of empathy, inclusivity and respect for all, as we strive to drive positive change across Australia’s healthcare system.
Engagement with the profession
At our exhibitor booth and throughout the conference sessions, we were pleased to connect with physiotherapy leaders, professionals, academics and practice owners. Our booth made space for long conversations with delegates eager to know more about our services in accreditation and assessment and how we safeguard the quality of new entrants into the workforce. We had a chance to hear firsthand about the needs and challenges of the profession.
Presentations and insights
The Council Deputy CEO Dr Tamsin Garrod presented our commitment and work to ensure the physiotherapy workforce through our services. You can read her presentation here.
We also celebrated the work and presentations of several Council representatives including Board Director Associate Professor Michael Reynolds, Accreditation Committee Chair Toni Andary, Accreditation Panel member Blayne Arnold, Accreditation Committee member Curtley Nelson, and many more.
Throughout the conference, there were opportunities to gain insights into the current and future landscape of the physiotherapy profession, and we heard about the latest trends and challenges that our industry faces. We look forward to our ongoing partnership with the APA and the physiotherapy profession to meet the current and future healthcare needs of the Australian community.
