At the end of the year, I will conclude my leadership role as Deputy Chair of the Health Professionals Accreditation Collaborative Forum (HPAC Forum). I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to positive change in healthcare education accreditation, collaborating with a committed and inspiring group of leaders.
Working alongside many dedicated healthcare leaders and professionals from regulation and education accreditation has strengthened my belief in the power and impact of people and teamwork through a time of significant change in healthcare regulation both in Australia and around the world.
I am grateful for the support from my Board of Directors who have endorsed my involvement over the last 2 years. I am also very appreciative for the collaborative and collegiate approach of Terry Crisp who chaired the Forum through this time.
Amelia Druhan joined the Forum as Executive Officer a few months ago, and has been a wonderful support to our collaborative work. I’m thankful for Amelia’s energy and commitment which have increased our effectiveness and shared the load of our Terry and I.
I would also like to talk about the wonderful opportunity to sit on the Independent Accreditation Committee and to work closely with leaders in Regulation like Justin Untersteiner, Helen Townley, Michael Carpenter and Chris Robertson.
Over the last two years of serving in a leadership capacity with the Forum, we have navigated a dynamic healthcare regulatory environment, faced challenges together and refocused our attention on the role and contribution of the Forum.
Congratulations to our new Chair, Jonathan Kruger, and Deputy Chair, Dr Louise McCall —I wish you both the very best as you take the reins for the next chapter and will be putting my shoulder to the wheel to support you both.
It’s honestly been an honour to serve, and I’m excited to continue being part of the Forum’s ongoing work into the future.
