The Council has assessed many University programs and has found them to be substantially equivalent to an Australian entry-level qualification.
If your University, qualification, and cohort (years of study) match EXACTLY with an entry below, you can make an application for an Equivalence of Qualification – Existing Program.
If your program and cohort has not yet been mapped to the Physiotherapy Practice Thresholds, you will need to include a template document completed (and stamped) by your university in your application. A link to the template can be found here. Programs that have not yet been mapped are indicated with a †.
If you have graduated from an Equivalent University program, you can be confident that your program has equipped you to meet the knowledge, clinical skills and professional attributes necessary to practice physiotherapy in Australia.
If your program does not match EXACTLY with an entry in the list below, you may instead be able to make an application for an Equivalence of Qualification – New Program assessment.
If your program is not on the list this doesn’t necessarily mean that your program is not equivalent to an Australian entry-level qualification. It may be that we haven’t previously had an application of your program or sufficient evidence to meet the criteria was not provided.
Please also note that all applications are assessed on their individual merits. So, if you completed the same program as one already on the list but with a different cohort, it is not guaranteed that your qualification will be found to be equivalent.
For more information on the Equivalence of Qualification – Existing Program, please feel free to call 1300 528 003 (within Australia) or +61 3 7018 1499 (outside Australia) or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Looking forward to discussing your options and helping you in any way we can.
