We hope this finds you all well. COVID-19 may have impacted on the way we do business, but certainly not whether we do business. For the Council, the past 9 weeks have been a time of innovation, collaboration and possibly more than anything else, living by our immutable values. We continue to put people first.
Customer obsession has always been at the heart of everything we do at the Council and as devastating as COVID-19 has been on communities around the world, this pernicious pandemic was never a formidable enough opponent to change that.
Every decision is tested against that exacting standard, without apology or equivocation. We have constantly sought input and indeed sage counsel from our stakeholders and partners. We have listened. We have been quick to change direction to best service our customers, whilst maintaining quality outcomes to ensure public safety.
We have used this time to work tirelessly; to harness our incredible pool of talent and work smarter; to forecast how best to Covid-proof the Council; and to continue to ensure that we make your experience with the Council as exceptional as the world standard Physiotherapists we assess, and the esteemed Education Provider’s Physiotherapy Courses, we accredit.
With restrictions now easing across the country, we wanted to share with you what we are doing to continue servicing our Accreditation partners to give you confidence on the changeable road ahead.
We recognise the unique circumstances and challenges for Education Providers and students to continue with their programs of study. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the need to alter program delivery and operations. We have worked with CPDANZ and the PhysioBA and modified program monitoring requirements to reduce the burden on Education Providers. The time frame for reporting has been extended from June 30 to September 30, 2020 and we have agreed that the necessary changes to programs during this time will not trigger a re-accreditation requirement.
We value our accredited Education Providers’ expertise and trust that you will make decisions that are in the best interest of your students and public safety. Our outcomes-based accreditation standard provides flexibility to our Education Providers and we applaud the innovations you have made to ensure student success and enable the 2020 final year students the opportunity to graduate as competent, safe, entry-level practitioners.
We continue to implement our accreditation and re-accreditation processes, introducing an online accreditation portal whereby streamlining our processes. Site visits have also been adapted to virtual events using video conference technology.
Rest assured, despite our responsiveness during these unparalleled times, the Council remains guided by the advice provided by the Australian Federal Government and the Victorian State Government’s Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS).
We wish you all well and please take care as we reimagine business as usual.
